Description
Ok, hope this won't turn into a looong description but there's alot to say. I tried finding my own style and the first step is making a template / base. I was just randomly trying to do it and towards the end I was using certain genres to make them.
Most use the same 8 colours except number 6 which i only use 4. They are in the order of creation.
1/ Unknown genre was randomly making it and I was sorta going towards Bahamut Lagoon as that was a pretty fun style to do. But it's so skinny.
2/ Sorta went towards that view in Valkyrie Profile, that slightly turned + platform style, and didn't want the eyes to be generic like I usually do them so just made them simple.
3/ Went chibi style, with no idea what this can be used in.
4/ Used the same head as before but moving towards a Disgaea style (not sprite style just like art style)
5/ Used the previous body as a base and ended up making a multi genre style. This is my best base of them all, and will use this quite a bit I think. I liked it so much I tried using it to make a sprite of Kat from Gravity Rush (which I just finished and is amazing), and it turned out great.
6/ I tried making a super small sprite for use in a platform game, as most of the time I make sprites bigger than this, looks funny but I think I should use it first to see how well it does.
7/ Tried a top down view like Pokemon and Ys.
8/ Typical RPG style
9/ My first try at isometric style, which is very similar to 5 just a few angles changed
10/ A fighting game style, which is just really my multi genre style put into a fighting pose, as I didn't want to make a big fighting sprite, and I was thinking of Card Saga Wars.
Overall that was an interesting experience with the different styles, although I did end up using a similar head to number 5 often, which I like and for some reason I associate with RPGS.
If anyone wants to use the bases go ahead, just credit when it's due.
